mission 1: high rope element
was pretty scared at first. when i was up there things just felt so different. i tried 3 obstacles of sorts: walking across the pole, across a wire while holding on to another wire above, and the most trying one: getting from one net onto two tyres then onto the net again. i wanted to give up at that last obstacle coz my arms were aching! but the ppl below spurred me on. they asked if i wanted to give up when i was already halfway there and i decided not to. so finally i made it to the two swinging tyres in the middle! though i took up a lot of time. this taught me perseverance to run this Christian race & how i really can do it if i set my mind to it.
mission 2: worship
what can i say? God's spirit just moved mightily amongst us speedlighters. He also touched me during the NOWservice- night of worship. i felt this heat on my whole face though the auditorium was airconditioned and i just cried a lot. it was really wonderful. can't explain it in words. truly, down at His feet is the most high place.
mission 3: nightwalk
we headed into the jungle and we were given a task: to walk alone/in pairs in the jungle, just following this path ahead of us surrounded by trees & all. was supposed to go with chiu, but in the end we went alone. once again this was a challenge for me. but i was not feeling anything when i faced that long stretch of road in the dark, in the jungle. as i was walking, i just enjoyed the quietness, the solitude, the faith that there would be people(my group mates) at the end waiting for me. then we were subject to lots of flour/mud/pond-wading/blindfolds for almost 3 hours! really tested how much i can hold up and how i reacted in situations.
mission 4: messages/sermons
blessed by the sharings - everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. silence & solitude are just what we really need for quiet time. how i must be like daniel - he did not compromise and did not bow down to other kings or defiled himself. the main message in the camp: holiness. something that i thought i couldn't reach becoz the plain fact is i am not holy. but the Word says "be holy, for I am holy".
